In designing the new Heat Exchanger, our engineers took the opportunity to allow for an extra accessory to help increase its life and give you many more years of worry free use.

The New Sacrificial Anode is made from Zinc and can be added to the heat exchanger through the new bleed point. The Zinc Anode will corrode in the heat exchanger instead of the copper heat exchanger itself, keeping the system in top working order and protecting your investment.

New Bushranger 6,000kg Snatch Strap

Why a 6,000kg Snatch Strap?

This question could really come under a heading called the importance of strap selection. A snatch strap relies on its elasticity to get the stationary car out of is bog. Ideally it will stretch an extra 20% ontop of its initial length to give the correct elastic reaction and 'snatch' the vehicle free.

To get this ideal 20% stretch or very close to it, the snatch strap should be rated between 2 to 3 times the vehicles GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass). Most Compact SUV's have a GVM between 2,000kg to 2,4000kg, so a 6,000kg Snatch Strap is the most suitable size for use on those vehicles.

If the strap is rated higher than 2 to 3 times the GVM, it will not stretch enough. This would dramatically increase the shock forces that occur during the recovery which can cause damage and even catastrophic failure of the strap, other recovery gear, the vehicle and even the occupant. The other way around using a strap that isn't rated high enough can overload the strap causing it to fail causing it to fling back at a vehicle at a deadly rate.

   Viair have just released a new range of compressors, the IG Model Compressors are Viair's New Industrial Grade Compressors. Here is their introduction to the new model:

   IG Model Compressors

   Industrial Grade (IG) compressors are specifically designed to fill air reservoir tanks and feature a specialized head assembly that includes a newly-developed, patents pending intercooler for higher heat dissipation. All IG compressors are certified CE spec. and feature outstanding sealing properties to the elements. Additionally, all IG compressors are equipped with stainless steel braided PTFE-lined leader hoses and a separate check valve assembly that serves to protect the compressor by eliminating the possibility of high amperage restarts. • Integrated Flysheet - Creates an insulating cushion of air between the tent and the flysheet, these tents remain a lot cooler in the hot sun - and condensation, especially during those very cold nights, is all but eliminated.
• Aluminium Frame - Thick anodized aluminium tube – greater strength and rigidity of the erected structure.
• Insulated Base - Vacuum laminated ABS base – Superior strength and insulation.
• Window awnings - There is one on each side, providing protection from sunlight as well as protection from adverse weather. The awnings can remain open at all times, with adjustable insect netting and separate window flaps located inside the tent, allowing for instant climate control.
• Openings - At each end of the tent is a large access opening. This is shaded by the flysheet. Both openings also have complete insect net protection and a zipped canvas flap.
• Ladder - A telescopic aluminium ladder. This is also used as the lever to open and close the tent.
• Cover - The tent is enclosed with a zip operated, heavy duty cover with additional securing straps.
• Spring steel stays - Tensioning the flysheet and window awnings is easy. Simply insert the spring steel stays into grommets located in the base of the tent.
• Ventilation apertures - In the top of the tent are fully insect screened.
• Four internal storage pockets
• Each tent comes equipped with an internal bungee system to facilitate the closing of the tent.
• Universal Mounting System - This facilitates the easy mounting of the tent to your roof bars or roof rack and also allows for the tent to be opened to the rear, side or in some cases even to the front of the vehicle.

4X4 Action Compressor Comparo - Bushranger Compressors

4WD Action recently carried out tests on a wide range of compressors, we submitted all 7 Bushranger Compressors for testing and comparison to the rest of the compressors on the market. We had very many positive results from this comparison which included:

• AUTOMAX COMPRESSOR - RECOMMENDED

4WD Action Comment: This is a quick compressor and solidly built. The trigger did become tiresome to hold by the sixth tyre, but that means it's inflating your mates tyres and he should be doing it himself.

• MAX AIR II COMPRESSOR - RECOMMENDED

4WD Action Comment: Basically identical in appearance and specifications to the Auto Max, it would make sense to perform similarly when tested. The foam handle was almost too hot to touch after pumping 12 tyres, but the compressor never looked like stopping.

• BLACK MAX COMPRESSOR - RECOMMENDED

4WD Action Comment: Another solid performer in the Bushranger line-up it never looked like stopping even though the heat could be easily felt through the handle. It would pay to let all portable compresssors cool for a few minutes before packing them away.

• POWER AIR II COMPRESSOR - BEST BUDGET COMPRESSOR

4WD Action Comment: Pumping continuously for nine minutes a tyre on 12 35in tyres and never skipping a beat, it definitely earns this compressor the Best Effort award. It never raised a sweat - enough said.

Bushranger conducted a media day on Tuesday 25th November at Boat Harbour Sydney, to demonstrate the capability of compact SUV’s in off road scenarios.

The aim of the day was to increase the awareness of SUV owners that with the ‘right advice’ and the ‘right equipment’ they too could experience the outback, and travel to the many locations around the country that were previously thought of as serious 4WD only.

When bonding windows to a van you are generally left with an unsightly strip of colour between windows. This strip of colour can take away from the vehicles overall appearance. It can be even more noticable when one piece of glass is on a sliding door, where additional clearance gaps are required. This can now be solved with the New Aerostrip.

Aerostrip is a length of black rubber designed to sit under the rear edge of the front bonded window and over the front edge of the rear bonded window. It fits both fixed and sliding windows and even the Clamp ring sliders of the Ford Transit Van. You can even use it on windows mounted on sliding doors.

The Clear Covers are available in both the 160mm and 205mm sizes and will not only protect your lights from impact damage from rocks and sticks, etc. But will enhance the appearance of the lights while in use and when not in use.

Recovery Hitch - Destructive Testing

Before the introduction of the New Bushranger Recovery Hitch, it was subjected to Destructive Load Testing to ensure its performance and Certify its 5,000kg load rating. Three test products were machined out of High Strength Billet Steel, specifically selected by the Kingsley Engineering Team for its ideal properties.

SRS Side Curtain Airbag Compiant Side Steps

Kingsley Enterprises have developed a unique Side Step System that is compatible on vehicles fitted with Side Curtain airbags. Using the simplicity of design and latest manufacturing technology, the Kingsley Engineering Team have created an adaptable system that enables shorter design lead times for new model releases. For Validation, Kingsleys used an independent testing authority specializing in Certification to test this system to current ADR regulations.

While the Kingsley Engineering Team are looking into the future, they do so with the current products in mind. They are now incorporating this Side Step system into existing side step kits, for late model vehicles where side curtain air bags are an option. This updating process of existing kits is moving along at a quick pace but may take a month or two to finalize. We recommend checking such details with our Kingsley Sales Team prior to order placement, to ensure that the kit available is compliant or not. Also, please state clearly on any official order, if any vehicle has side curtain airbags, so they can ensure you receive the correct in a timely fashion.
